ArmA News Roundup
Well there has been a lot of news recently so rather than write up 100 different articles I thought it would be easier to just have a roundup of all the info.
First of all, there has been a flurry of new information about Operation Arrowhead, which will be released in just 2 days. BIS have released this official video showing off some off the new night technology available in the game, including flash lights, IR lazers and of course FLIR. BI have also been updating the AAN News website with some "teaser" articles, although I suspect most of these will be redundant in 2 days, they are worth a look if you haven't seen them. You can check them out here. Not to be ignored, the official arma2 website has also been updated with OA factions, weapons and vehicles.
Community member Rommel recently received his preview copy of Operation Arrowhead, which he won from our recent OA Competition. He has been kind enough to answer any questions people have about the game and has posted a lot of information in this Q&A. You can find a load of screenshots, a couple videos and a lot of general info. Some new additions include in-game mod management, flares, improved sights, tactical sights, improved radar and damage system plus much more.
Diverting from Operation Arrowhead for a bit, BIS have just released patch 1.07 for Arma 2. Download details are here. An impressive changelog as usual, although nothing new for anyone who has been participating in the beta patch testing. Unfortunately, the weapon recoil fix (video) will not be in this patch. The 1.07 patch build is 71750, but the recoil fix was applied in 71752 :( . Remember if you want to help BIS you can test thier beta patches and provide feedback in this forum.
Finally, Armaholic has had a nice makeover so head on over and check it out.
