Hi guys,

We will be testing a missions tomorrow that will hopefully be used in an event in a couple of weeks. Don't know too many details about the missions but all I know is that it's coop and scalable from 10 to 50 players.

Server: Image
Teamspeak: Image
Date: 31/01/10
Time: 1900hrs AEST
Mods: @ACE; @ACEX; @CBA
Mission: Conflict alpha 6
Respawn: Yes - revive
Players: 54

Make sure you are ~30 mins early to get comms and teams sorted. We want this to go as smooth as possible. Not only will we be testing the mission, but also the organisation of the event. Everyone who is playing the mission is expected to be in the event teamspeak channel.

Cheers,

Yes, anyone who wants to come is welcome. Don't even know if it will be locked (it's likely though).

I'll give a little intro to the mission here. It has a crappy little backstory, which I'll dump here too.

The mission is highly dynamic and random, enemies appear in different places every time you play it, and objectives go in random orders. The more players in the server, the heavier the resistance.

There is friendly artillery, enemies have small mortar teams too. Enemies with radio packs will call in mortars on you, so try not to get pinned down.

There will be spots for a dedicated attack chopper pilot (little bird) and armor crewman (bradley, and M1A1 if there are lots of players).

There is a SF group too, this will probably be reserved for a clan group. They get a bit more gear, things like CS gas and sniper rifles.

There is a spot for a sniper spotter pair, noone else gets sniper rifles.

If any groups want these slots reserved for them tomorrow, we should be able to arrange that. It's probably best not to let completely random pubbers fly/drive tanks anyway.

There are at the moment six objectives which are randomly cycled through. Depending on how well organized we are, we could expect to get through maybe three in a two-three hour event.

Briefing:

Four months ago a small, mineral rich Eastern European country was invaded by uniformed Russian forces. The Russians were quick to respond stating that this was not a calculated act of aggression. Instead they claim that that a rebel contingent has deserted and, led by extremists, have performed this invasion autonomously.

The UN have yet to react in any unified liberation, forcing the USA to take action. The Americans claim that they will liberate the country and reinstate it's rightful leaders.

Over the past few days air superiority has been gained and naval forces have been moved into position offshore. The time has come for the liberation. We are only sending a platoon of marines because we want to prove how manly marines are.

If the Russians want to stick to the guise that this was a militant break-away, they will be without air support or main battle tanks in their defense. Civilian casualties are to be minimized.

Servers prepped with latest version of ACE2.
Also has (but not enabled except on request):

FRAN_Quesh_Kibrul
Isla_Duala
Namalsk
Panthera
SAP_Everon

Also has around 15 TG missions, and although it wasn't intentional at the time, the latest ACE2 update has put all the ACE2 missions in the mpmissions directory, and I won't have time to edit the script till after tonight, so Domination and a few other things are on there temporarily.

We have FTP access available if you need to put this mission up there also.

We'll try to round up some lads for tonight.

Rommel, can you provide what version of ACE you are running on AAF? We can connect to AEF with 1.0235, but not AusARMA.

Update: ZSU should more than likely have a 4 man fireteam or so tonight

ZSU will probably want the SF slots in that case.

Gnarly, the ausarma server is running the latest ACE as of now, so AEF would be running the same (I assume).

Unfortunatley we get kicked off the AuARMA server, but connnect to AEF no problems (tested just then). We'll check again when AAF has their server up in the evening.

You may want to try ausarma right now, the keys are disabled at the moment, so you shouldn't get kicked for connecting with whatever you want.

Either way, you should be fine for tonight assuming keys are off on the AIF server.

Edit: Any takers on the sniper/spotter pair or armor crew?

I'll take the armour, just need a volenteer to be the 2nd crewman (or an AI, I'll work with 1 of them happily)
